Knee Pain

Knee pain can be presented as dull, stabbing and sharp pain around the joint and its surronding areas. In some cases, it can be accompanied by swelling, clicking sound, redness and stiffness. Knee pain can be very common from young athletes to older adults. Knee is one of the largest and most complex joints in the human body, responsible for bearing significant weight and enabling a wide range of movements including walking, running, squatting, and climbing stairs.

Causes of the knee pain

Knee pain can be very hard to diagnose its cause. Knee pain can be due to degeneration, sports injury, walking pattern and lifestyle. Misalignment in the spine, pelvis, or lower limb can put excessive and uneven stress on the knee joint. Over time, this altered biomechanics can accelerate joint wear and contribute to chronic knee pain even in the absence of a specific injury

Chiropractic care with knee pain

Chiropractic adjustments can help to restore joint motion not just in the knee, but in the spine and lower limb. Not only it helps with the symptoms on the knee, but it also helps to improve posture, balance, coordination and strength of the body.

Soft tissue therapy might be needed to address muscle tightness, reduce scar tissue, and improve circulation around the knee. This can help to speed up and ensure full recovery of the knee especially for knee sport injuries.

At Active Family Chiropractic & Wellness Centre, our chiropractor will conduct a thorough examination of your knee, lower limb, pelvis, and spine before designing a personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.
