

Muscle spasm
Muscle spasm or cramps is invlontarily, sudden and painful contraction of the muscles. Spasm can last for several minutes tohours and it can be mildly or severely painful. Common causes for muscle spasm are overexertion, exercise, dehyration and electrolye imbalances also nerve compression or injury.
Torticollis
Torticollis is also known as wry neck, occurred due to dysfunctional local neuromuscular mechanisms in the neck. The involuntarily contraction of the neck muscle causes the abnormal head tilting and neck rotation. Sometimes, it can cause headache in adults.

Chiropractic care and muscle spasm
Chiropractic care is mainly involved spinal manipulative therapy and muscle therapy. Both are very effective in treating muscle spasm as it helps to reduce the pain and also relax the muscle. Not only chiropractic care can relieve the symptoms of the muscle spasm , but it also addresses the biomechanics and neulogical cause of the muscle spasm. Preventative care such as postural chiropractic care and strengthening exercise can help to prevent the muscle spasm reoccurred.
